Have you ever wondered how Laptops, Tablet PCs and Ipods work ? Do you know the difference between GSM, 3G and Wimax? You would probably have looked up on the net about these.

But how do these technology really work? Do you want to be able to build and design these devices? Do you want to be an engineer like Alexander Graham Bell to innovate a new communication device?
Look no further ! UNITEN is the place for you !
An Electrical and Electronic Engineer’s work combines science and engineering, by not only designing processes that are sustainable, but also by striving to solve technical problems.
The Bachelor of Electrical and Electronics Engineering programme at UNITEN is designed to jumpstart your career in the area of communication, electronics, computers, VLSI, signal processing and in almost all areas which require embedded system.
To join the undergraduate programme, your competency in mathematics, calculus, physics and computer knowledge will be very much required.
As UNITEN generates professionals, the aspects of your soft skills will be polished. You will be to taking languages and other courses from other departments, mainly from College of Foundation and General Studies intended to produce well-balanced graduates.
In the course, subjects would cover electrical circuits, electronics, digital logic design, microprocessors, signals & system, electrical machines & drives, digital signal processing, and communication. These are the basis of the electronics engineering. Laboratory work which include electrical measurement techniques, application of non-linear devices, digital logic design, electrical machines, microprocessor, signal processing, communication are intended to adapt the students in practical aspects of the theory learned.
You will be encouraged to use Computer simulation tools widely through assignments and labworks. These would enable you be competent and up to date with any industries. At the end of the third year, you will be going through a compulsory industrial training where you will be attached to a company to further enhance your understanding as well for you to gain experience in the field.
At the final year, you will be choosing several topics from technical electives, which will enable you specialise in a particular area.
You will be required to do a design project course in the final year to apply engineering principles that you have acquired, and even further advance into investigative research.
Building a robot maybe ??

You could also participate in The Capstone Project in final semester, which is a multidisciplinary project where you have to work in a team consisting of students from other disciplines of engineering such as mechanical, civil and power engineering.
As an Electrical and Electronic Engineer :
Upon graduation you will be a competent engineer. As other UNITEN graduates, you will be expected to make an efficient and useful contribution at work. It's not enough to rely on just technical expertise; employers will expect you from UNITEN to demonstrate a range of practical skills.
Apart from technical knowledge, you would be expected to showcase the gained skills from the degree programme, including how to use specialist knowledge creatively and innovatively to solve problems, the ability to turn a concept into reality, effective communication, good teamworking, good project and time management, and a professional approach and ability to work to an ethical code of conduct.
So, choose UNITEN !!!
